What’s involved?

8 sessions delivered in a group designed to build understanding of mindfulness practice through both instruction and experience, with self-compassion the consistent theme. Participants will learn a variety of mindfulness techniques, and gain insights from psychology, science and Buddhist philosophy into the benefits and effects of a mindfulness practice. Participants will explore the obstacles faced while establishing a mindfulness practice and how these difficulties parallel modern and personal life. What makes this course unique is the self-compassion element and the teaching of emotions in relation to mindfulness.

What Mindfulness practices will I learn?

Breath Awareness, Moving meditation, Self-compassion, Breathing techniques, Mindful eating, Use of mantras, Visualisation, Body Scan, Emotional Attentiveness, Seeing With Eyes Open Meditation

What are the course objectives?

To: Introduce mindfulness and self-compassion. Understand the thinking and feeling mind and using breath awareness to tame the thoughts. Identify emotional states and attention to emotions in meditation. Cultivate the soothing emotional state through the use of mindfulness techniques. Explore the body as a mindfulness tool and reconnecting with the body through meditation. Unit thinking mind, emotions and body to achieve long-term peace and happiness.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Limited parking is available on Brentford Dock around side streets, there are several pay and display car parks on the High Street 5 mins walk.

What can/can’t I bring to the event?

A notepad would be useful, your curiosity and comfortable clothing

What does it cost?

The course fee is £150 (that works out at £18.75 per class)

How do I pay?

This is a small course no more than 10 places so reserve your place with a £20 deposit below.

When do I pay the balance?

We will send you a payment link for the balance to be paid 7 days before the course starts.

Can I pay by cash?

Of course, cash can be paid at anytime at a yoga or in person in Brentford, contact 07743 129 872 to arrange.

What if I can’t make one of the sessions?

We will send you catch up notes of the class.
